In front of a sold out crowd at the Air Canada Centre, the Toronto Maple Leafs lost in dramatic fashion to the Nashville Predators by a score of 9-2. Only 2 players on Nashville DIDN'T record a point in this game, Oli Jokinen and James Neal (Jokinen hasn't had a point yet this season). The Leafs were down 3-0 by the end of the first period, and Carlyle replaced Bernier with Reimer at the start of the 2nd, which clearly didn't do anything to spark the leafs.
Leaf fans were promised change this offseason under new president Brendan Shanahan, but change hasn't come yet. In two straight games the Leafs were blown out, previously losing to the Sabres 6-2. What Toronto needs to do is Fire Carlyle and bring a fresh mind to the bench.
GM Dave Nonis and the Leafs organization stated that it is up to the players to win games and work hard, but clearly that is not the case. Proper guidance is needed, and it's time Toronto gets some. Their roster is a good one, so the excuse can't be blamed on the players. It is up to the coach to get them going, so lets find one that can.
Now lets enjoy a funny Don Cherry Parody to lighten the mood.
